Days 2 to 6: The Middle of the Run

What to do after Night 1, and what to ignore. No fake day table.

Days 2 to 6 have no scripted events. The game keeps running the same four jobs: water, wood, storage, and getting home before dark.

The four jobs, in order of what kills runs

Keep a purified buffer, then add a barrel

Creator runs from 2026-09-21 show the same rhythm: fill the jug at the river, purify it on the campfire, drink, then store the surplus. A barrel blueprint needs 80 kg in the build menu of those runs. Build it only when the river trip starts costing you heat.

Bank timber instead of carrying it

Wood is the only real currency. A cart load in one 2026-09-21 run read as roughly 400 kg, and the same run treated the cart as the place to park logs that would otherwise sit in a droppable inventory.

Be inside the hut before dark, then sleep

The rooftop badge text is official: a hut plus a night survived is Day 1 complete. Sleeping skips the night. Staying out after dark is where creator runs lose characters.

When the weather warning appears, drop what you are doing

A creator run on 2026-09-21 shows the warning line: a sandstorm is coming this afternoon, gather firewood and water now. The same run then stayed indoors until it passed. Treat the warning as the game telling you the next hour is for restocking and shelter, not hauling.

A conservative read of the middle days

The game does not publish a schedule, and the day counter is the only clock. What follows is what finished runs looked like on 2026-09-21, not a requirement. Read the cost of anything you build off its own blueprint in game.

WindowWhat finished runs had doneNote
Days 2-3Second water source sorted, fire lit at camp, at least one barrel placed. What creator runs did, not what the game requires.
Days 4-5Enough stored water to skip one river trip, timber parked in the cart rather than in your hands.Weather warnings get more disruptive once camp is far from the river.
Day 6-7Nothing left to build. Stay near camp and wait for the camel. The camel trigger is contact, not a build. Creator runs on 2026-09-21 show extraction as soon as the camel reaches camp.

What ends runs out here

  • Drinking an unpurified jug to save a trip. Tastes Fine has 226 awards against 1,086,488 for purifying properly.
  • Long one-way hauls with a full inventory. Death drops everything you are carrying.
  • Being outside when the warning line is up. Reading a storm from inside camp is free.
  • Walking to the river at night. If you are out after dark, get inside instead.

Where the numbers on this page come from

Creator runs published 2026-09-21 are the only source for the 80 kg barrel and the roughly 400 kg cart load, and they are not official constants. The build menu in your own session decides the real cost, and the day counter decides how long you have. If a cost changed after that date, this page is wrong and the blueprint is right.

Still missing: canopy, campfire, and large furniture costs are only described loosely, so they are deliberately absent here rather than guessed. Heating and thirst figures are shown as percentages in game; do not trust Celsius numbers from commentary, including from the runs this page cites.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there events, bosses, or story missions on Day 2 to Day 6?

No. The game runs one loop from Day 2 until the Day 7 camel: heat, thirst, timber, sleep, and weather warnings. There is no day-by-day quest chain, and no page can honestly show you a Day 3 boss.

What should I actually do first on Day 2?

Water, then storage. Purify a jug before you cut anything, then spend the day's wood on a barrel so a single river trip covers more than one thirst cycle. Creator runs from 2026-09-21 place the barrel at 80 kg in the build menu.

What happens if a sandstorm warning appears?

Stop hauling. The warning line asks for firewood and water, so top up both, get back inside the hut, and wait it out. Creator runs stayed indoors until the storm passed.

Why does the game keep killing me around Day 4 to Day 6?

Usually the same three mistakes: running a long haul with a full inventory, being outside after dark, or drinking an unpurified jug to save a river trip. The cart is the fix for the first one and the hut is the fix for the second.
